International Day of Education is a day to celebrate the importance of education in our lives. It is celebrated on the 24th of January each year. History of International Day of Education

The idea of an international day of education was first proposed by the United Nations Educational on December 3, 2018. It was proclaimed by the United Nations as a means to promote peace and understanding among peoples through cooperation in education. The date was chosen for this observance, the 24th of January marks the anniversary of the signing of the UNESCO Constitution. Since then, the 24th of January has been recognized as the International Day of Education by people around the world.

Why is International Day of Education Important?

Universal access to quality education is one of the most important tools we have to achieve sustainable development. Education is not only about acquiring knowledge but also about shaping our values and attitudes. It helps us understand different cultures and develop empathy for others. When all people are given access to education, it leads to social progress, economic growth, and peace.

The United Nations International Education Day is a day to raise awareness about the lack of access to proper education in many parts of the world.
